Impotence (erectile dysfunction)
There is usually a mixture of physical and psychological causes of impotence with serious illnesses like cancer. Anxiety about the illness and the future can also induce impotence. Discussing these anxieties openly with a partner or doctor can help treat both cancer and impotence. It is more common for the cancer treatments used to cause impotence but cancers of the prostate and of the lower bowel are most likely to cause impotence.
